RAIN, RAIN GO AWAY...

It's still raining today! People are getting worried. Thinking of the possibility of another flood shivers me. I pray that another incident of 19th Dec 06 would not befall upon us. The victims are still in the process of picking up the pieces of their lives washed away by the flood. If they have to face it again, it would definitely be a nightmare.
I had the opportunity to watch some videos on the flood tragedy yesterday. It was devastating to see the town in such state. Water was everywhere almost drowning half of the town. The strong current showed no mercy, and washed away anything in its path. Buildings, cars and even lorries and buses became the victims.
I had been a 'semi prisoner' inside the house for days. The routine so far is going out to work at 7.am and back inside the house at 2pm. Any desire to go out had been washed away by the rain. The idea of covering myself with a thick blanket on the soft bed is more welcoming in this weather.

A NEW YEAR, A NEW WORLD

Finally it's 2007. A new year which I know brings a lot of new hopes, new dreams, new challenges and new hidden agenda... There's a long journey through 2007 before we reach the end of the year. people keep on making new resolution for a new year. But did they really manage to materialise it? We should ask that to ourself. What's the point of making resolution when it has never been achieved?

Well... I'm not really obsess with making resolution for every new year. What I always hope for are for my parents and my family to be together and healthy for another year. That is also my resolution or you can say HOPE for 2007.

However... 2007 the three of us, Shah, Red and I had decided to have a new resolution together. This year we hope to save money for a trip to Japan in 2008. I really wish that our dream to be in the Land of The Rising Sun will come true. I'll pray for it every single day this year.

Friends... Good Luck To Us... May the Force be with Us *wink* ^_^

SUPER-HEROIC-BROTHER-IN-LAW

Hahaha... it seemed that my brand new bro-in-law is a bit unhappy i did not mention him in my flood story (read his comment if u don't believe me ^_^) just kidding. well... actually he was the one who had all the guts to drive the Kembara through the water while my sister prayed all the way. She prayed really hard and LOUD! hahaha... I was busy typing sms on my phone *wink* Thanks Abang Ngah... So now everyone knows u really are a SUPER-HEROIC-BROTHER-IN-LAW who came to my rescue during the flood... Just like Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers

Hei Red, Stop with all those shoppings already... I'm afraid that U and shah will end up buying the whole KLCC! Have u finished the project?

p/s : that's my SHBIL with my dear sis... cute couple huh!

FINALLY I'M DOWN

There were many things had been done and still needed to be done till the end of the year. The lists seems to be endless. I was busy with the so called 'big project' since the starting of the month and still struggling to complete it as it needed to be 'closed' at the end of the year. I was also busy planning, organizing, preparing and making sure my beloved sister's wedding sail smoothly without a hitch (It was not an easy task as she is a very sensitive and demanding lady ^_^ sorry kak!) During the wedding itself I was running here and there settling any matters needed to be settled (be it trivial or serious).
Then... there's a matter the great big flood which hit the town unexpectedly. I was almost stranded at the other side of town, but luckily my sister was there. So we went through the rising water (which scared me silly as I can feel the water against the Kembara's door) We were surrounded by water which almost submerged the tyres. Alhamdulillah... we got to the other side safely. However we were stranded in the middle for three days as the town was badly flooded.
Then... there's a matter of finding our way out to KL as there was going to be a wedding reception for my sister at the groom's house. It semed hopeless for us as all the way out were cut off. After sending dozens of sms around to friends asking for clear route to Kl we managed to find a way out. We went to KL via the Segamat -Kuantan, Bahau - Seremban, Senawang - KL route. It took us almost 6 hours to reach my brother's house in Cheras (Normally it takes only 3 hours) it's like a trip from the south up north. After enjoying ourselves in KL, again dozens of sms were sent to find a clear way back to Segamat.
Then... there's a meeting needed to be attended. Once I went around town, the place looked as if it was strucked by a minor tsunami. There were debris and rubbish all over town. The buildings and roads were also damaged. Cars were lining up outside workshops waiting for their turn to be repaired (they were 'drowned' in the flood *wink*)
And finally I got the big prize...
I was down with fever for 2 days. I kept on vommitting for the whole night. Due to that I had no chance to revise for my so called 'exam'. I went into the exam hall, answered all the questions, went out and hope for the best.

WORST FLOOD EVER

It was a shocked to people in Segamat as we are suddenly facing the worst flood ever since 1950s. The water level rose within 2 hours in most residential areas near town causing many to be evacuated. The new town centre is also badly flooded where all the 4 major shopping centres were affected. Water rose submerging both bridges in Segamat. Unexpected places were flooded in just a couple of hours, Leaving the residents hopeless as they are not prepared for it. Most wre unable to save their belongings as the water rose unexpectedly. All route out of the town are cut off. People here are unable to go out. Most are stranded because they can't go home or out. People in Segamat Baru and Bandar Putra are also cut off from the outside world as both route to KL and JB are badly flooded. Hopefully the food supply here will be enough until the water level subsided.

LOVELY PAIR

Went to a friend's wedding last saturday with Shah & Red. Glad that I can still remember the way to her house in BP. Luckily I managed to drive there without any problems. I can't describe what I felt when I saw her in her wedding finery standing beside her brand new husband *sigh* I think both of them look very compatible together. Way 2 go girl! hahaha... But... being Uyean, she was still the same eventhough it was her wedding. We managed to spare some time gossiping about a lot of things with the bride. CONGRATULATIONS Uyean.

That night Shah & I took Red out for dinner and a brief tour around our 'little' town. I'm happy that another friend of mine was here in my hometown.

A VERY QUICK TRIP

After 6 months of resisting Kl traffics, finally I'm back on KL roads. It feels good as i didn't get stuck in any jams. But... it was the quickest trip to KL ever. Thanks to dad and his mood swing! (If he's in KL he'll have a terrible mood swing) Maybe because we did get stuck in traffic at the Pedas-Linggi highway, for less than 5 minutes ( they closed 2 lanes out of 3). But dad's mood changed on the spot! Instead of sleeping over for a night (that was the original plan), he insisted of going back in the afternoon. We went to Kl to visit mum's brother. My hope to enjoy a shopping spree in Jalan Tuanku and Mydin was crushed!
As mum and Dad went to TTDI (Abang took over the task of being their chauffer) I played a while with my 9 months niece and slept for an hour (I was woken up at 5.30 a.m and departed to KL at 6.15 a.m).
Back from TTDI, dad was anxious to get back home and mum was reluctant to leave. She wanted to spend more time with Nana, Wafiy and baby Sarah. Me??? I just refused to get involve in their silent war.

The Result!?

We were back south at 6.00 p.m. Dad drove all the way back and I slept at the back ^_^

A SURPRISE!!

I do get the most unexpected surprise in my life when I heard a friend of mine is getting married. I keep on telling myself that Uyean is getting married 4 days. After it registered in my mind I was excited and eager to attend the wedding. Can't imagine her in a bridal finery... Back in campus, she was always in jeans, shirts or t-shirts. She was a bit tomboyish and 'brutal', she seemed not to be interested in matter of the heart. I will definitely go to her wedding! This is a chance of a lifetime to see her sits quietly on the dais and smiles coyly to all the guests present ^_^ (If she is going to have 'bersanding")

I also heard news from a long lost friend of mine in Sarawak. She's a doctor now. It's been almost 10 years... I've lost contact of her since she changed her numbers. She told me another friend ,who is also a doctor is getting married. Well... well... looks like one by one... my friends are leaving their single life...

Shah... Looks like Uyean had broken the chain.
Wonder who's going to follow her step next
Red... will u be next? Come down South n we'll go to uyean's wedding 2gether
Me???
Well... I'm still looking K

IT'S HOLIDAYS...

What r the things people normally do during holidays? Go for a nice and relaxing vacation with family? Stay at home and get that much needed sleep and rest? Meet friends and waste the night away together? Continue working at home though u r suppose to take a break?
Well... it's up to the individuals as to how they should fill the holidays. Spending some money taking the family for a trip to a nice and relaxing spot is ok. U don't need to go abroad to enjoy the breeze and the sun (if u can't afford to...)
I hope those who rtaking a little break from work this November and the coming December will enjoy themselves. Have a great hoilidays guys...

Well it's still Syawal month and there is still enough time to visit friends' house. for the next 2 weeks I'll try 2 fill my weekends by going to a few friends' house for a visit and of course the FOOD! I'll visit them at night if I have 2 *wink* I'm still thinking whether I should have an open house this year. When should I do it? What should I cook? Well... I'll just wait and see... If I have the mood for it, I'll invite a few friends over to the house. Those who are not invited don't be sad ok... Maybe next time you'll be invited ^_^

IT'S MOVIE HOUR

Today I am letting my boys and girls watch a movie. I know they are tired after long hours of answering exam questions this morning. So I think it's best to let them unwind with a funny animation 'BARNYARD'. Let them watch farm animals go about with their life at the barn. IF... they did not fall asleepin the middle of the story. I'm still struggling with their answer scripts. It's really tiring and challenging to mark their essays. At times I almost doze off while reading their essays zzz.... Oh... I do need to get myself anoher red ink pen. Maybe I'll get one after work *sigh*

GREAT CELEBRATION!!!

Finally... I can spare some time to write some thing here. The last few days were spent with celebrating Eid with family and friends. My family and I visited our relatives during the day, exchanging stories and enjoying the food served. Then, at night we were busy entertaining friends and relatives who came over to the house. There were so many of them, that it took me almost an hour to clean the dishes. At one time, I still haven't finish doing the dishes used by the previous visitors the next group had already arrived. Luckily the food was enough for everyone. Well... though it was tiring, I really enjoyed myself this Eid.

HAPPY NEWS
Yesterday, I was beaming with smiles when I read my favourite magazine, Galaxie. It seems that my 2 favourite South Indian actors finally tied the knots. It was unbelievable. I do watch Tamil movies once a while OK. Some of the movies are really good compared to bollywood movies which usually revolves around sad love, unrequitted love, sacrificing love ... The same old thing if u know what I mean...
Well... I don't read or undertand Tamil, so... I never knew that people have been speculating on their relationships for the past years. All I know is that, whenever I watched them together in movies, they really made a very compatible couple on screen. That's why I always hope they would end up together in real life. And they do! They are so sweet together *sigh* ^_^ Hope their marriage will last for a very long time.

DEEPA RAYA

Looks like once again we're celebrating 2 festivals together, Deepavali and Hari Raya. Hence, we have the name DEEPA RAYA. We're forever creative in inventing new names. Used to celebrate Raya with Chinese New Year, and we called it KONG XI RAYA. Maybe the next time we'll celebrate Raya with other festivals, THAI RAYA (Thaipusam + Raya), GAWAI RAYA (Hari Gawai + Raya), RAYA MAS (Raya + Hari Krismas). We'll just wait n see ^_^

The celebrations will be twice exciting and unforgetable. There'll be more open houses and crowds. Tomorrow is the start of my official break for DEEPA RAYA. I'll be off work for the next 10 days. What do u think I'll do? Go figure!

Finally... my new clothes for this coming Raya have arrived. Phewh! *sigh*

Selamat Hari Raya or Happy Eid Mubarak To all Muslims who happens to stop by at my blog. May U have the best celebration this year.

WHAT A BLOG!

Having this blog is simply a way of expressing my thoughts freely. It’s just for fun after a hard day at work. Writing a story or simple thoughts of the day. Sharing some interesting facts or photos. I’ve just changed my blog address so that I can still stay invisible to those who know me. I am also still trying to update my blog as frequently as I can. But… after a tiring day, your brain can just refuse to function. There are incidents where I sat in front of the computer and my mind just blocked. Can’t think of what to write. So… I was left staring at the screen for almost half an hour with a blank page!

Last night I actually fell asleep while updating this blog. The computer was one and I was still online. I started at 9.30 and did not know when I fell into a deep slumber. (That’s show how tired I was) Luckily I woke up at 2.45 a.m. and realized it. My eyes might pop-out if I get the internet bill this month *sigh*

My friend, redenclave is a little worried that she had been found out by me after she had successfully made herself invisible to her close friends for the past 2 years. But it was a pure coincident dear. Let’s keep our secrets together K :D

Well… today, there’s going to be a breaking of fast at the school hostel. I almost forget it. Since I had signed a survey agreeing to attend it, I better show myself at the majlis. Can’t make people wonder why I did not turn up. And can’t bear thinking about all those delicious food put to waste. Heard that we’ll be having nasi beriayani, YUMMY! I’ll do the disappearing act after devouring all the food hehehe…
I’ve asked those who agreed to attend last week, but they are not going to turn up tonight. Guess they’re too tired coz we go back at 4 p.m. today. Well… less people means more food ^_^

TODAY'S DEAL

Yup! Today I had the chance to weigh myself and I lost a kilo. NO!!!!
If this continues I’ll definitely look like a moving skeleton, Freaky huh! *shivers*
Hopefully after Hari Raya I’ll be able to gain my weight back, at least a kilo.

Well… let’s see what’s new today?

I was supposed to go to the bank after work and pay my car loan, but I managed to make myself sleep through the day and woke up just in time for the bank to close. Guess I’ll just do it next week.

I went through my photo albums and down the memory lane…

The photos were taken when we lepak at the Merdeka Square after our final exam. We spent the whole day going around KL. Shopping, eating and having LOTS of fun that day.

I have lots of sweet memories with my friends in UM when we were in our Pre-Esl and TESL years. Those were the best days of my life. We used to have a lot of funs doing stuffs together. We spent a lot of time lepaking at the faculty’s stairs chatting, gossiping, doing our assignments, observing people passed by and …

Wonder what u guys r doing right now?

I guess the married ones r busy entertaining the family and the SINGLE ones (like me!) are really enjoying life and spending our hard earned money :p

Thinking of staying up late tonight, watch some movies or surf the net or something… don’t have to wake up early for work tomorrow, I’ll just indulge myself with extra sleep (if my mum allows it!)

IT'S TIME TO FAST!!!

Hmm… it’s fasting month. Looks like I’ll be getting slimmer(my sister prefers to describe me as skinny) this year ;-( hopefully not!

My weight is decreasing each year. Last year I lost 1kg and never gain it back. Others might think losing a kilo in year is nothing but for me it’s a MAJOR thing as I am underweight (that’s what people been telling me, they are right!) I’m not ANEROXIC k! (just in case if u r wondering)
As far as I can remember I’ve been losing weight but never gaining them back… If ever my sister happens to hold my hands, she’ll say that it’s like holding a stick as she can only feel my bone. There’s no extra FAT in me!

I’ve been keeping myself from freezing every day in the staffroom due to the non-existing fat in me.

Since Hari raya is coming, everybody is busy promoting, selling, buying and ordering kuih raya, baju raya, pinggan mangkuk raya and macam-macam lagi…:D
It seems that everyone has a thing to sell… and everyone is eager to buy!
Mmm… I still haven’t get my baju raya. Hopefully I will not get them on raya’s eve! :(

I wonder…. what will I eat for the breaking of fast today?
A hot creamy mushroom soup with some hot from the oven garlic bread?
A steamy and hot fried noodles with a lot of prawns in it?
A hot and spicy Seafood Tom Yam with kerabu mangga?
A big glass of cold and refreshing pink air sirap bandung?

Well… I’ll just wait and see what my mum cooks. I’ll just enjoy anything she cooks without any complaints… I don’t eat much when breaking my fast, but I do drink plenty of plain water (a good recipe to look young) *wink* *wink*

NUMBERS! NUMBERS!

It’s been a while since i wrote my last thoughts on things here. Well... what to do? I was busy preparing the accounts of the school cooperative as they are needed to be sent for auditing. Crazy huh! An English language teacher preparing all the needed accounts on her own… I can see numbers in anything, even my sleep. They are practically flying and swimming around me…. I don’t know how I survive this task for the last 3 years as I hated numbers and mathematics. I used to hate maths in school and if I scored an A for it, it was like a miracle. I also used to get less than 15 marks for my additional mathematics.. *sigh* *wink*

Anyway… hi friends, how are you? Hope everyone are happy and cheerful…

Just got these photos. They were taken when we had our mini reunion in April 2006. Though only a few of us can make it,it was fun meeting old friends and catching up on the lastest news or gossips...
Hopefully the plan to have our next reunion in Pangkor will come true....

Shireen, I'm definitely not at the top of the list, like u, I'm single and very much lovin it.
We'll wait for Shah k! let her be the first to break the cycle hehehe... she'll kill me if she read this!
sorry Shah... Shireen - ayu but sexy...(^-^)
Shah- chatty and all smiles...
Sue - sweet and cute...
Rizal - what can i say bout him?!!

IT'S THE LAST!!!

Another Inter Technic competition. Just like the previous years, we need to prepare the school debators. It's not easy, but someone got to do it. searching for debators are not easy, preparing the materials for them is twice difficult and training them is tiresome...

This is the time when the coach would use her colourful language... *wink*

This year it's in Pontian. Looks like I've finally reached all the districts in Johore hehehe... If it's not for the Inter Technic competition I would've never set foot to some of the districts in Johore (though I'm a Johorian myself) *blush*

I hope this is going to be my last year. I don't think that I could go through it anymore... too tired!

well... kak mas n kak nor. You've done such a great job! Congrats!!!
I'll be praying that next year you guys would scrap off my name from the list, PLEASE!!!!!

#1 The students are practising for the debate.

#2 & 3 Our debators are in action, trying to eat the opponents *wink*

GRREAT JUNE!!!

It seems that June is the best month for us teachers. Why? It's SCHOOL HOLIDAYS!!! For some teachers this is the time to take a break, go somewhere with their spouses or kids... Some would just prefer to stay at home to catch up on the much needed sleep. Unfortunately, some had to spend the holidays marking exam papers, like ME!!! Well... it's not that bad considering I had the time to go for a movie with an old friend (it's been years since I last stepped into a cinema), going shopping at Jalan Tuanku, Petaling Street, Central Market n even Shah Alam, n parted with a few hundred ringgit for this n that *wink* if u know what i mean..;-D
June is also a popular month for someone to get hitched hehehe...
A few dear friends got married this month, so..
CONGRATULATION ON UR WEDDING GUYS!!!!
mek lynn, sherry, suhaimi n yati... sorry I couldn't attend ur wedding.
But, I wish u guys a happy life and may ur marriage last to the end of time....
"till death do u guys part"
